Mostly because I'm curious what you folks like to work with.
For myself, I like using Olympus cameras partly because of the size (it's so cute guys, and the lenses are tiny), partly the aspect ratio because I've never liked 3:2, and partly because of Live Composite (explanation here: https://www.duford.com/2016/08/explaining-olympus-live-composite-mode/ ) which is great for light trails/fireworks/actual fire.
I've got too many lenses because self control is hard, but the main two that I actually use are the Olympus 45 f/1.8 (majority of the portraits/live music are with this) and the Olympus 75-300II (wildlife, some landscapes, daytime portraits). For bodies I use the E-m10mkI (hiking/travel) & E-m5mkII (everything else).
Ooo that all depends on what I’m shooting. Portraits on my crop sensor canon and everything else on my full frame Sony for sure. I love the Sony because it’s small (A7) and quick. But it hunts for focus like double the time my canon does
Very cool! I started off with smaller bodies and lenses when I began to passionately explore and learn about photography, making Fuji crop-sensor family of cameras (X100T/F, X-T1 and T2) my weapons of choice. As times went on, I started to play with adapting old film camera lenses to my Fuji's with the purpose of experimenting with different kinds of image renderings those lenses would produce. Focus peaking feature of Fuji bodies was extremely helpful in those creative endeavors and Helios 44-2 and Konica 40mm f/1.8 being favorite lenses.
Old film glass eventually led me over to old film cameras, some expired and not expired film, and I ended up liking what I was getting at 35mm, so I decided to try out medium format, at first with 6x9 world of Fuji's "Texas Leica" cameras, and subsequently - 6x7 Pentax.
As time went on, I've picked up a few more medium format lenses, a digital medium format Pentax body and probably am (in the eyes of Mrs.) couple of more lenses away from permanently sleeping on the couch:
I am trying to narrow down this zoo somewhat, and currently my favorite lenses are 90mm f/2.8 for the 6x7 film system (not as bokehlicious as the much hyped 105mm f/2.4 perhaps, but lighter and to me it feels like it strikes a good all-purpose/street/portrait lens, while offering a shorter minimal focusing distance) and 55mm for the 645z (even though now it may have a contender in form of a 75mm lens that I need to test out - 3/31 Meet, here I come!)
That's quite the collection! Do you develop the film yourself or use a lab?
Thank you! Due to my current place being rather small, I use Samy's to develop and scan on my own. Would love to be able to setup my own dedicated dark room/photo lab again someday.
